Production Assistant

Onsite -Only Local candidates Work Hours: 7:30-4:00 pm; This position is on site; This position does not have the opportunity for an extension

Required Skills Is utilities experience required? (Y/N) No Top 3 Must-Haves (Hard and/or Soft Skills): 1. Able to stand for longer periods of time 2. Able to lift 35-40 pounds 3. Works well with others Education/Experience/Certifications Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent or equivalent experience. Typically, two or fewer years in print or digital production, customer service or a related field. Requires a valid Drivers License and a history of safe driving practices.

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Printing Services - Receives training in and executes production of automated printing and mailing of PGE billing statements, notices, letters, and other communication pieces under supervision. Typically produces work within the print or mail side of the operation but is limited in both. Assists in executing internal orders for printing and finishing services; learns and uses various software, hardware, and machinery to produce reports, presentations, documents, and other communication in digital or print media. Receives guidance from senior colleagues or lead concerning paper, binding, and other options to meet customer needs. Finished work is inspected by senior colleague or lead to ensure quality and customer satisfaction. Follows all quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS), FERC, NERC, OPUC and SOX requirements. Equipment and Supplies - Performs routine hardware maintenance under supervision. Places service calls for hardware and software as required and keeps accurate logs of system downtime and vendor resolution. Monitors and maintains onsite inventory and stock of printing materials and supplies. Team Support Supports production team to ensure daily schedules and production goals are met; fill in as needed to ensure production needs are met. Follows all safety procedures and escalates issues as appropriate.

Schedule/Attendance Ability to adhere to pre-established schedule, including start/stop time and break/lunch schedule. Ability to work long hours. Ability to work a variable schedule. Ability to report to work and perform work during periods of severe inclement weather. Ability to consistently meet attendance standards for regular, reliable, predictable, full-time attendance. Ability to work shift schedule Ability to work on-call schedule. Physical Capabilities Driving/travel/commute: Daily within service territory - Frequently (at least once a week or more) Lifting/pushing/pulling: Up to 50 lbs. Carrying: Up to 50 lbs. Unstable surfaces requiring balance: Confined spaces Environment Plant Environment

Minimum Qualifications Functional Competencies Basic knowledge and skills in using/operating automated printing applications and equipment, e.g., cut-sheet and continuous-feed production printing solutions, mail-inserting equipment, bindery, engraving and ink jetting solutions, as well as the associated software for each. Basic knowledge of printing and mailing industry practices. Basic knowledge of PGE departments; ability to link and demonstrate partnership. Basic knowledge of relevant USPS rules and regulations.
