Position: Elementary Assistant Principal

Calendar: 258-Day

The position of Elementary Assistant Principal is done for the purpose/s of maintaining overall school site operations; receiving, distributing and communicating information to enforce school, District and State policies; maintaining safety of school environment; coordinating site activities; communicating information to staff; and addressing situations, problems and/or conflicts.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provides instructional leadership and professional development to all staff members.
  • Assists principal in developing a positive effective learning climate.
  • Assists in maintaining student discipline and handles special cases as necessary.
  • Assists with the evaluation of certificated staff members.
  • Works on committees pertinent to the operation of the District.
  • Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, and works with the principal for investigative follow-up.
  • Works with faculty in compiling the annual budget requests.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree required with a major in educational administration or appropriate related field.
  • At least three years successful experience as a classroom teacher.
  • A valid state certificate to practice as a school administrator.
Compensation and Perks
  • Personal leave cash out at per diem (in June if elected)
  • 10 days of vacation cash out at per diem (in January or June if elected)
  • $150 cell phone stipend (paid monthly)
