Position Overview
A warm and established family in Chelsea, New York is seeking a dedicated, long-term Household Manager / Family Assistant to provide attentive care for their home and family. This is a wonderful opportunity for a mature, experienced professional who is passionate about creating a well-run household and thrives in an independent, trusting environment. The ideal candidate is reliable, warmhearted, and a true animal lover. The family has a 13-year-old daughter and an adorable Yorkie who will be a central part of the daily routine.

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive daily care for the family's Yorkie, including multiple walks per day and feeding
  • Perform light housekeeping, tidying, and general household organization
  • Manage laundry, including washing, folding, and changing bed linens
  • Load and unload the dishwasher and maintain a clean kitchen
  • Ensure the family's 13-year-old daughter is fed and looked after after school
  • Accompany the daughter to weekly horseback riding lessons (driver provided)
  • Maintain consistent routines across the primary Manhattan residence and the family's Long Island home
  • Assist with light errands and organizational tasks as needed
  • Be prepared to serve as the primary point of contact in the home when parents are unavailable

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a household management or family assistant role strongly preferred
  • Must love dogs — comfortable with daily dog care and walking
  • CPR/First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid driver's license preferred
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Professional, discreet, and trustworthy
  • Must be able to provide 3–5 professional references
