Job description

The resort’s pool area serves as a lively, social gathering space where guests enjoy casual dining, signature cocktails, and premium service. Pool Servers play a vital role in creating a welcoming, relaxing, and service-driven environment for all guests enjoying the resort’s poolside experience.

The Pool Attendant at Black Desert Resort provides attentive and professional food and beverage service to guests enjoying the pool facilities. This role is responsible for taking orders, delivering food and beverages, assisting with poolside setup, and ensuring that every guest receives an exceptional level of service consistent with the resort’s luxury hospitality standards. Pool Servers work closely with bartenders, pool attendants, and management to maintain a smooth, efficient, and elevated guest experience.

Onsite: Black Desert Resort – Pool & Flo Bar

Shift & Schedule Availability: Seasonal / Full-Time

Pay Rate: $17/hour plus limited tips. This is the base rate we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Key Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Greet guests and pool guests promptly and warmly, providing towels, setting up lounge chairs, cabana check ins, ensuring guest comfort, providing menus and beverage recommendations.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and input them into the POS system.
  • Deliver poolside orders like food and beverage items in a timely, professional manner, ensuring accuracy and presentation.
  • Anticipate guest needs, offering refills, additional items, and upselling resort signature drinks and menu items.
  • Assist with daily bar setup, stocking, and organization for poolside service.
  • Monitor the cleanliness of the pool deck, furniture, and cabanas, ensuring a neat and inviting environment.
  • Collect used towels and linens, ensuring timely transport to designated laundry or storage areas.
  • Restock poolside amenities such as towels, water stations, and condiments.
  • Support bartenders by replenishing glassware, bar fruit, mixers, and supplies.
  • Respond to guest inquiries with courtesy and professionalism, providing information on resort amenities.
  • Maintain cleanliness of poolside service stations, tray stands, and guest areas.
  • Adhere to all health, sanitation, and safety regulations in food and beverage service.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and respond quickly to guest concerns or requests.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of poolside bar service, including stocking supplies and restocking inventory.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Act as an ambassador of Black Desert Resort’s service culture, delivering elevated, personalized hospitality.
  • During Winter season the pool may have limited service.
  • Pool employee will be asked to support other outlets with a secondary job which may have a different payrate and/or tip structure.
  • Attend mandatory orientations and trainings. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Previous serving experience in luxury hospitality, resort, or poolside environments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service, cocktails, and wine preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a high-energy, outdoor environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and guest service skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Must meet legal age requirements for alcohol service and possess any required state/local certifications.
  • Must hold or obtain Food Handler and Alcohol Server permits.
