OVERVIEW

The Wealth Planner is responsible for developing client solutions for individuals with high-net worth and for handling all levels of planning situations for clients. The Wealth Planner is also responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with clients while ensuring the efficiency of the financial plan process. The Wealth Planner is also responsible for all functions relating to IRAs and HSAs while adhering to the credit union's standard of service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Design effective client strategies and prepare financial plans for clients.
  • Review financial plans for accuracy/completeness.
  • Manages all aspects of eMoney Advisor & RightCapital software programs; this includes assisting and training clients and Financial Advisors on the functionalities within the systems. Help clients connect their outside accounts and walk them through the features of their online access.
  • Present financial plans to clients and prospects in either in person or virtual meetings.
  • Maintains financial planning software, ensures all account connections are up to date, enters client data and runs reports to review financial situation.
  • Work with clients to update their financial plans on an annual basis, at minimum.
  • Assists in preparing for client meetings; looks for opportunities to promote products and services that would benefit the clients and enhance their economic wellbeing.
  • Stay current on government policy changes affecting the financial sector.
  • Assist financial advisors with gathering information for ACH and Share and Loan requests.
  • Work with Investment Program Coordinator to schedule incoming referrals for the advisors.
  • Supports Financial Advisors in a team environment with client investment service including beneficiary changes, account transfers, contribution and distribution requests, Roth conversions, RMDs, statement consolidation, LPL Account View 2.0, and other account maintenance.
  • Maintain client data within Redtail.
  • Assist with IRA and HSA back-office processing, including ensuring tax-deferred accounts are properly configured, documented, and transactions are properly registered. Ensures compliance with IRA and HSA regulations and policies.
  • Keep up to date on new regulations and requirements for qualified accounts.
  • Open qualified accounts and assist with service requests such as certificate updates and member questions.
  • Assist members with required minimum distributions.
  • Assist members with annual contributions adhering to the federal IRA contribution limits.
  • Assist with year-end tax requests from members and Accounting.
  • Maintain documentation of all processes for IRA and HSA functions.
  • Image and maintain electronic member files to meet compliance requirements.
  • Continually seek out and implement efficiencies and service/process improvements. Exercise strong problem solving and decision making skills.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree plus two years of related experience and/or training in a financial institution.
