About the Role:
Professional Performance Development Group is seeking dedicated Registered Nurses (RN) to join our team at FMC Carswell, a federal correctional medical facility in Fort Worth, TX. This role includes opportunities in both outpatient and inpatient settings, providing essential healthcare services to a unique and underserved population in a secure environment.
Schedule: This position requires a rotating schedule based on facility needs.
Week One Coverage:

  • Wednesday
  • Thursday
Week Two Coverage:
  • Monday
  • Tuesday
  • Friday
  • Saturday
Shift Options May Include:
  • 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • 5:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care including assessments, vital signs, and health histories.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations in accordance with policy.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV starts, and specimen collection.
  • Assist healthcare providers with exams and minor procedures.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and perform triage as needed
  • Monitor patient conditions and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Develop and update patient care plans.
  • Document all patient care accurately in the electronic medical record system (BEMR).
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and correctional healthcare standards.
  • Ensure infection control, safety, and proper handling of medical equipment and supplies.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licence.
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Ability to pass federal background screening.
Preferred:
  • Minimum 6 months of RN experience.
  • Experience in correctional healthcare, acute care, or behavioral health.
