Assistant Operator (Die Cut Feeder) is responsible for feeding material at the die cut machine; assisting the die cut machine operator with set up, utility, and quality tasks; and performing machine operating tasks as directed by the machine operator.

The Die Cut Feeder loads stacks of sheets at a die cut machine. The Die Cut Feeder uses manual or electric pallet jack to bring the load of sheets to the machine and to move finished loads from the machine. Die Cut Feeder uses manual devices and machine controls to set up the load and to prepare and move the finished load. Feeder performs duties at both floor and platform levels. Assists the machine operator with changeovers, monitors machine running conditions, and performs housekeeping and sanitation.

Essential Job Functions/Duties:

• Load material into die cut machine at feeder and set up quick change at feeder to maintain production rate
• Inspect material to be fed at feeder section for defects and to ensure conformance to customer and product specifications.
• Use electric pallet jack or manual pallet jack to transfer pallets of material to feeder section and to remove material from machine stacker/delivery section.
• Assist the operator with changeovers, machine set up, and machine adjustments as required based on product requirements.
• Assist the operator with operating and troubleshooting machine problems at die cut machine to maintain the production process and run machine at established rate
• Use machine controls to operate machine either independently by performing authorized operating tasks in the absence of a machine operator or as directed by the machine operator to start, stop, or to make adjustments.
• Use RF scanner to scan transactions to the Warehouse Management System and use Warehouse Management System to generate a label that corresponds to the item
• Record data on specified forms and complete required line documentation
• Perform housekeeping and machine sanitation tasks to maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Comply with all company policies and procedures including GMP, PPE, HACCP, and JSA regulations
• Responsible for ensuring, where applicable, the product safety, quality, regulatory compliance and legality of all products produced and sold.

Qualifications (minimum requirements to be considered for this position):

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent or trade school preferred
• Experience: Equivalent experience or experience multi-tasking in a fast-paced work environment
• Certifications/ Licenses: Other Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: OTHER: manual hand jack, electric pallet jack, moisture meter. Ability to use RF scanner for WMS transactions. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, internal quality procedures, and quality check lists. Ability to communicate production and machine issues to supervisors and others in work area. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic mathematics (i.e. counting) and measurement

Working Conditions:

• Working Environment: Safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes are required. In addition, task specific PPE may be required.
