Job description

Overview

FNF Construction, Inc., a MasTec Company and leading heavy civil general contractor serving the Southwestern United States, is seeking an experienced Concrete Paving Operator to support multiple paving operations on projects throughout the Southwest.

This position is responsible for operating specialized concrete paving equipment on roadway, interstate, bridge, airport, and other transportation infrastructure projects throughout multiple states. The ideal candidate has experience operating GOMACO paving equipment, a strong commitment to safety and quality, and the flexibility to travel extensively in support of project needs. The Concrete Paving Operator safely and efficiently operates concrete paving equipment, including GOMACO GP3, GP-2800, and Commander III machines, to construct high-quality transportation infrastructure projects. The operator is responsible for maintaining proper line, grade, elevation, and surface quality while working closely with supervisors, survey crews, and paving personnel. This position requires frequent travel to project sites across multiple states and the ability to work extended hours based on project schedules and operational demands. This is a Safety Sensitive Position.

Travel & Subsistence: This position involves frequent travel. The company provides a subsistence allowance for meals, lodging, and other reasonable living expenses incurred while traveling for work, in accordance with company policy. An employee would have to live/work 60 miles from their home address to qualify.

Responsibilities
  • Operate GOMACO GP3, GP-2800, Commander III, and related paving equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Set up, monitor, and adjust equipment to maintain required paving specifications.
  • Ensure pavement meets project requirements for line, grade, thickness, and finish.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and routine preventive maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and communicate maintenance needs promptly.
  • Coordinate with project crews to maximize production and quality.
  • Follow construction plans, survey markings, and project specifications.
  • Assist with equipment mobilization, demobilization, loading, unloading, and setup.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and comply with all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Complete required equipment and production documentation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5+ years of concrete paving or slipform paving experience.
  • Experience operating GOMACO GP3, GP-2800, and/or Commander III equipment.
  • Knowledge of concrete paving operations, grade control systems, and highway construction practices.
  • Ability to read construction plans and interpret survey markings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • CDL Class A or B preferred but not required.
