We are currently looking for a Operations Manager to join our Service team located at our headquarters in Granite City, IL. Our ideal candidate for a Operations Manager is someone who is an organized, accountable HVAC professional with a proven ability to manage crews, optimize labor and job costing, and coordinate service, maintenance, and installation teams to consistently deliver projects on time and within budget.
Primary responsibilities for icon's Operations Manager include:
  • Overseeing daily HVAC service, maintenance, and installation operations to ensure safety, quality, and profitability.
  • Leading field supervisors, technicians, and dispatch to optimize scheduling, manpower, and workflow.
  • Monitoring labor productivity, job costing, and margins; address inefficiencies and reducing callbacks.
  • Coordinating with estimating, project management, and service teams to support successful project execution.
  • Enforcing company policies, safety standards, and mechanical code compliance.
  • Supporting hiring, training, and performance management of field staff.
  • Serving as an escalation point for customer and jobsite issues.
  • Driving operational improvements to support growth and scalability.

Primary qualifications for icon's Operations Manager include:
  • 5+ years of hands-on HVAC field experience in service and/or installation
  • 3+ years of proven supervisory or management experience within a mechanical contracting environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, ductwork, piping, and refrigeration systems
  • Solid understanding of mechanical codes, safety standards, and construction best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple crews, schedules, and projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and submittals
  • Experience with job costing, labor productivity tracking, and performance metrics
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between job sites as needed
