Job description

RSG Landscaping LLC. is looking for an experienced Construction Assistant Operations Manager (AOM) for our Irrigation and Grading division located in Concord, VA. The AOM supervises and works directly under the Operations Manager to successfully complete sitework irrigation and grading projects. The ideal candidate will lead, manage, oversee, and develop field crews to successfully complete a project up to our company standards. Work may be performed in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Plan, organize, and coordinate employee and project work schedules.

• Ensure the delivery of high-quality workmanship.

• Know and comply with company, industry and/or OSHA policies, procedures, and regulations.

• Recognize and correct any unsafe conditions that may exist or occur on the job site, including conducting job site inspections and follow through for abatement.

• Plan and conduct weekly safety meetings and training in related areas of expertise.

• Review and monitor contract specification documents, implement adjustments as required, and ensure accurate and timely completion of work projects.

• Oversee field crew(s) to ensure correct work methods are employed. Provide technical assistance and/or training as needed.

• Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of company policy and contract specifications.

• Initiate and maintain relationships with contractors and suppliers.

• Represent company in project meetings.

• Monitor and control projects through administrative direction of on-site supervisor to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.

• Plan equipment, material, and personnel requirements as far in advance as possible. Obtain at appropriate time in job schedule.

• Inspect work progress, equipment, construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met.

• Receive and respond to customer inquiries, requests, and/or complaints.

• Ensures drivers and operators are performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.

• Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities.

• Ordering and scheduling of materials and equipment needs for projects.

• Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3 plus years of project management or operations experience, including some experience in directing the work of others.

• Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.

• Valid Virginia Driver’s License.

• Experience with Microsoft Office/365.

• A team player with a professional attitude.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Reliable transportation.

• Completion of an OSHA 10-Hour Construction Course (Preferred).
