JOB DESCRIPTION
Goodhue Public School Food Service Department is looking for a dependable and hardworking kitchen assistant to join our team. This role is essential in keeping our kitchen running smoothly by maintaining clean dishes, utensils, and work areas while supporting overall kitchen operations. Applicants must possess a strong work ethic, the ability to work as part of a team, and the desire to learn and grow. General computer skills are required. Training will be provided for this position.
HOURS
Monday through Friday from 11:00 am-3:00 pm - but could be slightly adjusted to fit the right candidate's needs.
All food service staff work approximately 175 days per school year.
The schedule aligns with the student school calendar (September through May).
PAY
$17.43-$18.03/hour based on experience
BENEFITS
This position qualifies for partial benefits but no insurance benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans.
Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dishroom and kitchen areas.
Empty trash and recycling as needed.
Assist with basic kitchen prep or stocking when required.
Follow health and safety regulations at all times.
Sweep and mop floors as needed.
Follow proper procedures for chemical handling and equipment use.
