WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Event Solutions Engineer is a networking engineer with strong project management and communication skills who will support the client, to carry out a best-in-class service in relation to design, operation and implementation of onsite and offsite networks.

The candidate must have a strong technical background, be innovative and agile, collaborate well in a team environment, and have very strong written and verbal communication skills. A successful candidate will help develop and understand requirements from internal customers and create technical solutions to improve productivity and services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review client requests and provide technical support for the integration of IT and Network services at onsite and offsite Events.
  • Coordinate all proposals and work provided by event venues, HSIA providers, ISPs, and/or 3rd party vendors.
  • Deploy, test, and support (directly/remotely) Event networks, WiFi, IT Assets, IT Help Desk, and Experiential Technology.
  • Deliver technical resources within the Event's budget and schedule.
  • Apply significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to our clients.
  • Cultivate a network of global event resources and provide reports on vendor performance.
  • Own the technical support lifecycle and be responsible for managing technical risks providing redundancy) throughout support planning and delivery.
  • Communicate and enforce client IT standards; assist with creating and defining new standards as technology and scope evolves.
  • 25% Travel to Event sites as needed such as hotels, convention centers, client campuses, etc. In London as well as internationally.
  • Provision and deploy hardware: Cisco, Cisco Catalyst, Juniper Mist, Peplink, Aruba APs. Switches, Wireless Controllers, Routers, Access Points etc
  • Document daily work via internal ticketing/tasking system.
  • Troubleshooting where needed.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • 3+ Years' Experience in network deployment. Windows, Mac, Cloud, Hardware.
  • Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+.
  • Client Facing/Customer Service skills are paramount.
  • Previous experience managing client expectations and troubleshooting in a fast-paced live event environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and strong organizational skills.
  • Punctuality and a can-do attitude.
  • Experience with IDFs, Data Centers, and office space.
  • Experience with VPNs (DVMRP, GRE, IPSec/SSL VPNs).
  • Experience with MAN/WAN - MPLS, SD-WAN.
  • Knowledge of support for 802.1x and network segmentation.
  • Familiar with patching of CAT6 cabling and Fiber Optic cabling.
  • Familiarity with Live Events, Video Streaming, Audio-Visual equipment is a plus.
  • Experience working as a Project Manager or Consultant is a plus.
