Job description

Role Overview

Proactive Technology Group is seeking a technical, execution-focused engineer to support infrastructure deployments, client implementations, and network improvements across our managed client base. This role is responsible for carrying out technical project work, resolving escalated support issues, and assisting with the deployment, configuration, and improvement of client environments.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and comfortable working across servers, Microsoft environments, end-user systems, and network infrastructure. This position works closely with our project, service, and technical teams to ensure implementations are completed correctly, consistently, and with minimal disruption to client operations.

Implementation and Project Work

  • Execute infrastructure and systems implementation tasks across client environments.
  • Deploy, configure, and support Windows servers, Microsoft 365 environments, Active Directory, and related business systems.
  • Assist with tenant migrations, server upgrades, workstation deployments, line-of-business application rollouts, and other technical projects.
  • Document completed work, configurations, and technical findings within our ticketing and documentation systems.

Network and Infrastructure Support

  • Configure and troubleshoot switches, firewalls, VLANs, wireless networks, and related infrastructure components.
  • Assist with network refreshes, site deployments, and multi-site connectivity improvements.
  • Support troubleshooting of performance, connectivity, and infrastructure-related issues across client environments.
  • Work with internal teams to validate that network and systems changes are implemented properly and operating as expected.

Client Support and Onsite Response

  • Provide escalated technical support for client issues involving servers, networking, Microsoft 365, and end-user systems.
  • Travel onsite to client locations, including hospitality environments, for implementation work, troubleshooting, and remediation of IT and network issues.
  • Support after-hours maintenance windows, project cutovers, or emergency response scenarios when required.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience
  • Strong background in systems administration and network engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows environments, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and common third-party business applications.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting VLANs, firewalls, switching, wireless, and general network infrastructure.
  • Ability to execute technical work independently and follow defined project or service processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, network, and end-user technologies.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with project managers, service teams, and client stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in an MSP or managed services environment.
  • Experience with multi-site client environments.
  • Hospitality industry experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with server migrations, Microsoft 365 implementations, network refreshes, and infrastructure deployments.
  • Experience supporting both project-based work and escalated service issues.
