Job description

Job Summary
The NCV/EEG Technician is responsible for performing high quality Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV) and Electroencephalogram (EEG) diagnostic studies to support physicians in evaluating and diagnosing neurological conditions. This role ensures accurate data collection, excellent patient care, and adherence to clinical and safety standards.
EEG technician responsibilities include preparing patients, placing electrodes, conducting tests, monitoring responses, documenting abnormalities, and reporting findings to physicians.
EEG Responsibilities
โ€ข Set up, operate, and maintain EEG equipment in accordance with physician orders.
โ€ข Apply scalp electrodes correctly, ensuring secure placement and signal quality.
โ€ข Conduct EEG tests, monitor patients during procedures, and ensure comfort and safety throughout the exam.
โ€ข Identify and document abnormalities in EEG recordings and prepare detailed reports for physician interpretation.
โ€ข Educate patients on EEG procedures and address questions or concerns.
โ€ข Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
NCV Responsibilities
โ€ข Perform Nerve Conduction Velocity studies using appropriate neurodiagnostic equipment.
โ€ข Prepare patients and ensure correct placement of electrodes and sensors for NCV testing.
โ€ข Monitor patient responses and adjust equipment as needed to ensure accurate nerve conduction measurements.
General Clinical & Administrative Duties

Qualifications
โ€ข Completion of an accredited EEG or Neurodiagnostic Technology program.
โ€ข Minimum 1-2 years of experience performing EEG and/or NCV testing preferred.
โ€ข Strong understanding of neurophysiology, electrical safety, and diagnostic procedures.
โ€ข Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
โ€ข Experience in a multispecialty or neurology-focused clinical setting.
โ€ข Additional certifications (e.g., CPT, CLTM, NCS specialization).
