Job description

At McCormick, we’re always looking for new people to bring their unique flavor to our team. We are looking to hire a Contract, Motion Graphic Designer to work in a Hybrid (50/50) capacity at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland.


The Contract, Motion Graphics Designer will join our in-house Design Team to create engaging, on brand creative that is used in various digital channels that aligns to brand and marketing objectives. This role works closely with Designers, Copywriters, and Content Producers. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Creative Design:

  • Strong design foundation with typography, color theory and layout design.
  • Support the development of animations, motion graphics, and 3D designs for new design concepts, storyboards, and visual treatments that align with project goals and brand identity.
  • Ability to adapt existing static and motions designs to new sizes and formats for various web-based channels. 


Motion Graphics & Animation:

  • Design and create visually stunning animations and motion graphics for web, mobile, and video platforms.
  • Utilize industry-standard software (e.g., After Effects, Premiere Pro, Cinema 4D) to animate text, graphics other visual elements.


Project Management:

  • Manage assigned tasks efficiently, meeting project deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and creative quality.
  • Work collaboratively with designers and copywriters to ensure consistency across creative deliverables.


Continuous Learning & Innovation:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and techniques related to motion graphics and animation.
  • Experiment with new technologies and creative approaches to push the boundaries of visual storytelling. 


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Graphic Design, Animation, Media Arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years proven experience in motion graphics or animation.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software–i.e. After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing creative and technical skills in graphic design and motion graphics.
  • Excellent communication, oganization and collaboration skills with the ability to present ideas and concepts effectively. Attention to detail, creative flair, and a passion for visual storytelling.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with multiple brands with unique styles and tones of voice.
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling and rendering tools (e.g., Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya) is a plus.
