Job description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Catholic Campus Minister to support the spiritual growth and well-being of students at the Student Center. In this role, you will help foster a welcoming faith community through mentorship, pastoral care, retreats, events, and communication initiatives. This paid position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' faith and personal development while gaining experience in ministry, leadership, and event coordination.
This position is part-time with an hourly wage, with a chance of becoming full-time and salary pay over time.
Position Purpose
The Campus Minister provides ministerial, programmatic, and communication support for the Student Center and its students.
Accountability
The Campus Minister reports to the Student Center Director and must adhere to all policies outlined in the Student Center Personnel Handbook.
General Qualifications
  • Must be an active, fully initiated member of the Catholic Church with a strong knowledge of Catholic teaching and tradition.
  • Prior experience in campus ministry, youth ministry, or related pastoral work preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring ability with college students or young adults.
  • Strong communication, teaching, and public speaking skills.
  • Experience planning and coordinating events, retreats, or programs.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, including record keeping and basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with ministry staff and student leaders.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for students of diverse backgrounds.
  • Must be available to work evenings, occasional weekends, and special events.
  • Physically and emotionally capable of fulfilling position responsibilities.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide pastoral care, Christian counseling, and bereavement support to students.
  • Mentor students through one-on-one meetings and support their spiritual development.
  • Plan and lead campus ministry programs including prayer groups, retreats, workshops, service projects, and faith-based events.
  • Assist in organizing and overseeing major retreats, including training and supervising student retreat leaders.
  • Support the recruitment, training, and development of student ministry leaders.
  • Coordinate opportunities for service, outreach, and community engagement.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating the annual mission trip.
  • Promote the mission and programs of Campus Ministry to the campus and local community.
  • Create and publish promotional content for events and resources, including social media, weekly emails, monthly newsletters, and other communications.
  • Attend weekly staff and student meetings and meet regularly with the Director.
  • Assist with budgeting and financial tracking for ministry activities as directed.
  • Perform additional duties related to campus ministry or communications as assigned.

HOURS: 20-28 hours a week
*the amount of hours available will depend on full scope of work that will be discussed upon interviewing.
The position of Campus Minister is compensated by hourly-wage.
