SRM is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Mine Planner to join our team. In this role, you'll play a critical part in developing and optimizing mine plans that support safe, efficient, and sustainable aggregate production across our operations. Your Mission & Key Responsibilities

As a Mine Planner, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining short-term, mid-term, and long-term mine plans that maximize resource recovery while supporting operational efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain mine plans, production schedules, and extraction sequences.
  • Analyze geological, survey, and production data to support operational planning and decision-making.
  • Design pit layouts, haul roads, stockpile locations, and mining phases.
  • Monitor production performance and adjust plans as necessary to achieve operational goals.
  • Collaborate with mine management, operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure successful plan execution.
  • Ensure mine plans comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including environmental and safety requirements.
  • Prepare reports, maps, presentations, and other planning-related documentation.
  • Conduct reserve and resource evaluations and assist with forecasting production and material availability.
  • Utilize mine planning, surveying, CAD, and GIS software to develop accurate mine models and designs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost control across mining operations.
What Sets You Apart

Successful candidates will possess a combination of technical aptitude, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills. We encourage both experienced professionals and recent graduates to apply.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in mine planning, quarry operations, aggregates, or surface mining is preferred but not required.
  • Recent graduates with relevant coursework, internships, co-op experience, or strong interest in mining and aggregate operations are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency with mine planning software, CAD software, GIS applications, and Microsoft Office is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, geological information, and production data.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments.
  • Frequent walking on uneven terrain and active mining or quarry sites.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Work Environment
  • Combination of office and outdoor mining/quarry environments.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, heavy equipment, and changing weather conditions.
  • Travel between mine and quarry locations may be required.
