Job description

Part-Time Clinician - Headache & Migraine Procedures

San Diego, CA | 1 day/week to start (Mondays), with growth potential

Haven is building the future of migraine care for the 40 million Americans who suffer from this debilitating neurological condition. Backed by Precursor Ventures and 1843 Capital, we're transforming how migraine is treated through an innovative combination of telemedicine, AI-enabled monitoring, and personalized care plans. Our early results are exceptionalโ€”our initial patient cohort is seeing a 70% improvement rate with days impacted by headache reduced by half. The Opportunity

We're seeking a part-time Provider (NP, PA, or MD) to support our San Diego procedural clinic. In this role, you'll deliver in-clinic headache procedures for patients whose care is otherwise managed virtually by Haven's specialist team.

This is a focused, injection-forward positionโ€”ideal for a clinician who loves procedural work, values technical excellence, and wants to be part of a mission-driven team improving how migraine care is delivered. As patient demand grows, this role has the potential to expand over time.

You'll work closely with Haven's neurologists and clinical operations team to ensure patients receive safe, effective, and thoughtful procedural careโ€”and feel genuinely supported every step of the way. How You'll Make an Impact

In this role, you'll provide high-quality in-clinic procedural care, including:

  • Chronic migraine chemodenervation using onabotulinumtoxinA (e.g., PREEMPT protocol)
  • Peripheral nerve blocks (occipital, supraorbital/supratrochlear, auriculotemporal, and related blocks)
  • Trigger point injections for myofascial contributors to headache disorders
  • SPG blocks (experience with catheter-based approaches welcomed)
  • Procedure counseling, aftercare education, and thorough clinical documentation
  • Close care coordination with Haven's virtual care team to support longitudinal treatment plans

You'll play a critical role in ensuring that Haven's hybrid care model feels seamless, coordinated, and patient-centered.

Who You Are

You bring strong clinical judgment and professionalism to every patient interaction, balancing excellent procedural technique with a deeply patient-first mindset. You're thoughtful and thorough in your documentation, communicate clearly with interdisciplinary teammates, and take pride in being a reliable, collaborative partner in care delivery. Above all, you're energized by delivering an outstanding patient experienceโ€”helping patients feel heard, informed, and confident throughout their treatment journey.

You're likely a strong fit if you have:

  • Active licensure and eligibility to practice in California
  • Prior experience in headache medicine, neurology, or procedural pain management
  • Hands-on experience with Botox for chronic migraine, peripheral nerve blocks, trigger point injections, and/or SPG blocks
  • Comfort performing outpatient procedures independently with excellent technique
  • Interest in contributing to a growing, mission-driven clinical program
Schedule & Setting
  • Part-time: 1 clinic day per week to start (Friday availability required)
  • In-person at Haven's San Francisco clinic
  • Predictable schedules, standardized protocols, and strong operational support
What We Offer
  • Competitive part-time compensation
  • A collaborative, mission-driven environment focused on high-quality headache care

The opportunity to grow with Haven's San Francisco expansion and take on additional responsibility over time

Diversity & Inclusion

Diversity is built into our DNA with a founding team representing POC, female, disabled, and LGBTQ+ founders. We strongly encourage candidates from all backgrounds to applyโ€”many successful candidates may not meet every requirement. Studies show that underrepresented candidates often only apply when meeting 100% of qualifications; we'd love to hear from you even if you don't check every box.

Haven Headache & Migraine Center is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer. All aspects of employment, including hiring, promotion, discipline, and termination are based solely on merit, performance, and business needs. We do not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected status.
