What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Assistant Midjourney, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Assistant Midjourney, you need a strong understanding of generative AI concepts, digital art fundamentals, and experience supporting creative workflows, often backed by a relevant degree or portfolio. Familiarity with tools like Midjourney, Discord, and image editing software, as well as basic prompt engineering, is typically required. Excellent communication, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset are valuable soft skills for assisting users and managing creative projects. These skills are crucial for enabling effective user support, producing high-quality visual content, and ensuring seamless creative collaborations.

What are Assistant Midjourney roles?

Assistant Midjourney roles involve supporting users in generating images using the Midjourney AI platform. They help answer questions about prompts, provide guidance on how to use Midjourney's features, and may troubleshoot basic issues. These assistants often engage with online communities, offering tips on prompt engineering and helping users understand subscription options. Their goal is to make the creative process smoother for both beginners and experienced users. Strong communication skills and familiarity with Midjourney's tools are important for this role.

How does an Assistant Midjourney typically collaborate with creative teams during the image generation process?

As an Assistant Midjourney, you’ll work closely with designers, marketers, and other creative professionals to understand their vision and help translate ideas into compelling AI-generated images. Your role often involves clarifying project requirements, suggesting prompt modifications, and iterating on outputs based on team feedback. Regular communication and the ability to interpret both technical and artistic input are essential for ensuring that the final images align with the project goals. Collaboration tools and frequent check-ins are standard practices to keep everyone aligned throughout the creative process.

We’re looking for a talented Graphic Design Intern with the skills and passion for crafting exciting and visually stunning designs. This internship offers hands-on opportunities to work on real projects while further developing your design skills in a professional environment.

About the Role

As a Graphic Design Intern, you'll work directly with our Head of External Affairs and CEO to help us think through our existing visual identify and how we present ourselves to our audiences, stress-test what’s working and what’s not, advocate for necessary and impactful design changes that push our identity forward, and develop compelling visual products across multiple platforms that better reflect our identity and scale as we grow as a business.

What You'll Do

You'll design and iterate on brand identity elements including logos, color palettes, typography systems, and visual guidelines. You'll create marketing materials such as social media graphics, presentations, print collateral, and digital assets that align with established brand standards. You'll assist in developing mood boards, design concepts, and presentations for client or stakeholder meetings. You'll also help maintain and organize our digital asset library and contribute to team brainstorming sessions and creative critiques.

What We're Looking For

You should have demonstrated experience developing branding and visual identity projects, whether through coursework, freelance work, or previous internships. Expert-level proficiency in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of products is essential, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, and InDesign, as well as experience in generative AI tools and workflows (eg. Midjourney, Magic Studio, Firefly). Familiarity with additional Adobe tools like Premiere and After Effects is a plus. You should have a strong portfolio showcasing your branding work and visual identity projects, with a keen eye for typography, color theory, and composition. We're looking for someone who can work both independently and collaboratively, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and communicate design concepts clearly. You should be receptive to feedback and eager to learn and grow as a designer.
