We are partnering with a regional telecommunications provider undergoing significant network modernization and expansion. This organization operates a multi-vendor fiber and packet-optical network and is investing heavily in FTTH, transport, and IP-based voice platforms.
This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation, provisioning, and maintenance of central office and core voice systems. You’ll play a key role in maintaining service reliability while supporting the transition from legacy TDM infrastructure to modern fiber/IP networks.
**What you’ll be doing:**
* Manage central office operations including provisioning, installation, and maintenance of core voice, data, and peripheral equipment
* Administer subscriber data and switch translations (adds, moves, changes, deletes)
* Support and maintain softswitch, IMS, SBC, and broadband infrastructure
* Monitor network and service quality; respond to alarms and service issues
* Assist with migration from legacy TDM/DLC systems to fiber and IP-based platforms
* Develop and follow procedures, including maintenance programs and MOPs
* Support compliance activities including lawful intercept provisioning (CALEA)
* Collaborate with engineering, customer service, and field teams
* Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
**What we’re looking for:**
* 5+ years of experience working with carrier-grade voice switch or softswitch platforms (Ribbon/GENBAND, Metaswitch, or similar)
* Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to identify root cause
* Solid understanding of telecom environments and carrier relationships
* Experience with Microsoft 365 tools for reporting and documentation
* Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
**Nice to have:**
* Experience with TDM-to-IP or fiber migrations
* Knowledge of SIP, IMS, and session border controllers
* Exposure to fiber access technologies (PON, Calix or similar)
* Familiarity with transport, timing/synchronization, and DC power systems
* Certifications (Cisco, Ribbon, Metaswitch, etc.)
**Environment & perks:**
* Hands-on role in a growing fiber network environment
* Opportunity to work on modernization initiatives and emerging technologies
* Competitive compensation plus full benefits (health, 401k, PTO, etc.)• At least 5 years of experience supporting carrier-grade voice switching, softswitch, or network operations environments.
• Practical knowledge of SIP, provisioning workflows, and telecom service activation within central office or core network settings.
• Experience working with session border controllers, hardware installation, software maintenance, and troubleshooting across voice and data platforms.
• Familiarity with legacy TDM networks as well as modern fiber-based technologies such as GPON and DWDM.
• Strong diagnostic and root-cause analysis skills with the ability to respond effectively to alarms, outages, and service degradation.
• Proficiency with documentation and reporting tools, including Microsoft 365 applications.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
• Willingness to work on-site in Medicine Park, Oklahoma and participate in an on-call rotation with limited travel as needed.
