Job description

Our House Brands are built to inspire and equip adventures near and far, and Proof sits at the very heart of that mission. As our Assistant Merchant for Apparel, you will bridge the gap between product development and the customer experience. Collaborating daily with Design, Production, Marketing, and Creative, you will support the end-to-end assortment strategy and ensure its seamless execution across all channels. This role demands a blend of analytical grit and creative intuition to meet specific business KPIs, elevate the merchandise strategy, and continuously improve our product and processes.

In this position, you will report to our Merchant overseeing the Proof Brand.

This role is based out of our headquarters in Austin, TX; relocation support will be provided to a remote hire.

Responsibilities
  • Owner of the data line sheet, keeper of total document accuracy and updates
  • Develop understanding for category trends and react as necessary
  • Manage PO deliveries with brand operations team to ensure timely product launches
  • Work with planning on receipts, PO’s, and inventory management
  • Assist with market buys, including developing SMUs and exclusive product
  • Bring marketing POV to all product launches
  • Create brand notes and product briefs that relay product info for creative teams
  • Special projects for the product team around return rates and product launches
  • Work with creative and editorial on PDP and marketing direction
  • Drive category business from a holistic buyer POV across House Brands and 3PA
  • Participate in brand discovery
  • Help manage day-to-day with lead merchant

Requirements

  • 2+ years of merchandising experience
  • 1-2 years of apparel merchant experience with ownership over a specific category
  • Strong analytical skills and proven track record driving the business
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Ability to prioritize and hit tight deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Excel with the ability to quickly pick up new systems
  • Passion for men’s apparel and a keen eye for detail and upcoming trends
  • Strong understanding of the Huckberry customer and alignment with our mission to inspire and equip adventures near and far
