Position Overview


RMGS, Inc. is currently recruiting a Medical Administrator in Stennis, Mississippi. This position is contingent upon contract award.


Roles and Responsibilities


  • Assist in the planning, development, management, and ongoing maintenance of a comprehensive medical records program
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for processing medico‑legal documents, insurance requests, correspondence, and compliant documentation, storage, and retrieval of medical records in alignment with Federal, State, and local regulations
  • Advise leadership, staff, and research personnel on medical records procedures, best practices, data retrieval methods, and problem resolution
  • Coordinate administrative activities related to patient admission, treatment, transfer, and discharge
  • Design, deliver, and evaluate in‑service training programs for medical records staff and healthcare personnel
  • Lead utilization review, quality assurance, and risk management efforts related to medical records
  • Provide guidance on the design, development, and evaluation of automated systems and technologies used for healthcare information management
  • Plan and justify the use of computer technologies for data collection, statistical analysis, and medical records management
  • Assess case mix and resource allocation systems to support efficient facility operations
  • Analyze information system data and recommend improvements for resource use and process efficiency
  • Performs travel and driving duties as necessary to support operational and contractual requirements
  • Forecast program growth needs and implement design changes to support expansion


Required Qualifications and Experience


  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Valid driver’s license and obtain/maintain any required certifications
  • Strong work ethic with excellent English communication skills (Spanish required for some roles)
  • Ability to work independently with high attention to detail
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position which may include walking, standing, bending and moving materials throughout the workday in a fast‑paced environment
  • Ability to work non‑standard schedules (nights/weekends as needed)

  • Proven experience in program and project management, including developing detailed plans, setting objectives, and managing both short‑ and long‑term initiatives
  • Familiarity with government and agency budgeting systems, including an understanding of medical equipment, supply, and service costs
  • Experience designing, delivering, and evaluating in‑service education and training programs for medical records staff and healthcare personnel
  • Ability to plan, execute, and assess utilization review, quality assurance, and risk management programs for medical records operations
  • Experience advising on the design, development, and evaluation of automated systems and healthcare information technologies
  • Strong knowledge of medical‑legal requirements, including record control, subpoena handling, privacy standards, and risk assessment
  • Demonstrated analytical ability to review data from information systems and recommend improvements for resource efficiency
  • Experience serving on hospital committees and contributing to policy decisions affecting medical records management
