Job Summary:
The Environmental Services Manager is to be responsible for the care, upkeep, and cleaning of assigned buildings and related facilities and supervision of the janitorial department.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Calculates material needed and develops material lists.
  • Supervise janitorial staff including disciplinary, timekeeping, recruitment, and employee relations issues.
  • Responsible for overall performance of janitorial department.
  • Assess best practices for keeping facilities and grounds clean and safe.
  • Work with supply and equipment vendors to determine needs of department.
  • Assist janitorial staff in cleaning of facilities and grounds.
  • Communicate with Facilities Director regarding departmental needs and concerns.
  • Operate light duty equipment and machinery, and clean and care for it.
  • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Work independently in the absence of supervision.
  • Will work outside as needed to clear sidewalks and parking lots during inclement weather days. This includes snow, ice, mud, etc.
  • Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards.
  • Promotes effective working relations and work effectively as part of a team to facilitate the Clinic's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
  • Attains all agreed to goals and objectives within specified time frames, as part of the Clinic's overall mission.
  • Responsibly follows the Clinic Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
  • Promotes the education and development of students, interns, residents, apprentices, and other new staff by sharing expertise, responding to questions, and fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years' maintenance/janitorial experience in a building trade setting, military, or other related experience.
  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School or GED preferred
  • One year management experience preferred.
