About the role:
Chanel, Inc. a leader in the luxury good industry seeks a Specialist, Buying - Small Leather Goods for the US Fashion Division. This Specialist is responsible for supporting the seasonal merchandising strategy in accordance with global and regional strategies for total US network.
What Impact you can create at CHANEL:
Business Management
  • Support the Senior Managers - Buying for Leather Goods on the implementation of category strategic vision and initiatives to drive the business across seasonal collection and reorder.
  • Assist the Senior Managers - Buying for Leather Goods on across 8 catalogs a year, through pre-market prep (order forms, ad hoc analysis, pricing sheets) and during market buying session (Boutique communication, systemic uploads, presentation creation)
  • Support Senior Managers - Buying for Leather Goods and partner with key cross functional teams in annual business planning, financial reports, and budget forecasting for product categories
  • Monitor and identify business opportunities and challenges by Boutique, you'll help to create business recaps with recommendations
  • Facilitate all product transfers and client requests thru outreach to Boutiques and Global partners.
  • Partner closely with product category and internal cross-functional teams to support broader business performance by providing correct data and ensuring timely execution of objectives: Boutique Leaders, Planning, Global Product Merchandising, Operations, Visual Merchandising, Education, Style Expertise, Client Engagement, Public Relations, and Account Services
  • Follow industry trends and maintain a strong pulse on the competitive market and key influencers.
  • Develop expert knowledge on Chanel's price positioning within the competitive landscape of the US market
  • Challenge the status quo to strive for better efficiency and push through roadblocks with creative solutions.
  • Develop a mastery of all business systems: PowerBI, MMS, Orli, AX pricing system, Smartsheet, and AXBI

Reporting & Analysis
  • Demonstrate accountability and ownership of in-season and market prep reporting and tools including analyses of sales, sell-thru, inventory, months of supply and shipments in Excel/Power BI
  • Conduct ad hoc/deep dive analysis on the business to impact in-season and future season business
  • Present weekly, monthly, quarterly and seasonal analysis and reviews of the collection performance (sales, shipping, stock to sales, by boutique, by classification, etc.)

Boutique Support
  • Build collaborative partnership with Boutique store teams, you will support delivery of seasonal product vision, provide tools and inspiration, and will equip teams to drive sales
  • Creatively drive engagement to promote styling, storytelling, and craftsmanship in partnership with Education and Style Expertise teams
  • Act as key resource for the Boutique teams to address client requests/ inquiries for product categories
  • Actively communicate with Boutique teams to maintain strong pulse of client and local market needs, as well as competitive landscape
  • Support Boutique visits for trainings, events, and business conversations

  • Possessing advanced Excel skills (vlookup, sumifs, sumproduct, pivot tables, etc.) and Power Point skills (animation, slide master formatting, embedding charts/graphs, etc.).

Position Requirements
  • Partially Remote: Role requires a minimum of three days in-person office presence at the designated location/office
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a buying-related, strategic/analytical role with demonstrated results in impacting business, fashion luxury experience a plus.
  • Location requirement: NY Home Office.
  • Travel requirement: Domestic (market enrichment, event and boutique opening support) & International for select collections.

Compensation:
  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is 62,000 through 95,000. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other forms of variable pay [may/will] be offered for this position. Other components [may/will] include bonus potential, benefits, and/or perks.
