Job Summary

The Mower / Grounds Maintenance team is responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and cleanliness of all outdoor grounds at Prime Craftsman Homes' manufacturing facility. This role includes mowing, trimming, edging, and general lawn and landscape upkeep across the facility grounds, parking areas, and common spaces.

This position operates primarily outdoors in all seasonal weather conditions and is essential to maintaining a professional, safe, and welcoming facility environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate walk-behind and ride-on mowers to maintain all turf areas on facility grounds
  • Perform trimming, edging, and detail work along walkways, fences, curbs, and facility structures
  • Remove grass clippings, debris, and waste materials from mowed areas and dispose of properly
  • Operate string trimmers, blowers, and other handheld power equipment safely
  • Perform seasonal tasks including leaf removal, snow and ice clearing, and light landscaping prep
  • Identify and report irrigation issues, landscape damage, or safety hazards to the Plant Manager
  • Maintain equipment through routine pre-use inspections and basic cleaning after each use
  • Operate equipment in compliance with OSHA safety standards and company procedures
  • Assist with general facility upkeep, light labor tasks, and grounds-related projects as needed
  • Maintain organized storage of equipment and supplies in designated areas
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager

Qualifications

  • Prior grounds maintenance experience or minimum years of work experience are required
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to safely operate equipment after training
  • Willingness to complete equipment safety orientation (company-provided)
  • Ability to work safely in an outdoor facility environment in varying weather conditions
  • Must possess a valid drivers license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with commercial or residential lawn care equipment
  • Experience operating ride-on mowers, zero-turn mowers, or similar power equipment
  • Basic knowledge of landscape maintenance, seasonal upkeep, or groundskeeping


Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work outdoors in an environment with noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • This position operates in a combination office and manufacturing/warehouse environment.

Work Schedule & Benefits

  • Full-time schedule, standard first shift hours Monday–Friday
