Overview

A freestanding ER in Tyler, TX is seeking a Lab Assistant to join their team. The Lab Assistant will strive to provide proficient, competent care while maintaining the patient's sense of comfort and dignity.

Responsibilities for the Lab Assistant

  1. Assisting with daily flow in the lab by checking status of orders and providing clerical services.
  2. Following all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work areas.
  3. Organizing new lab orders as instructed and copying orders for retention requirements.
  4. Maintaining lab operations by following policies and procedures.
  5. Filing results and filing lab sendout protocol.
  6. Meeting and maintaining the guiding principles of care for Hospitality Health ER.
  7. Documenting final lab reports by making sure reports are in correct charts and correct ordering physician has final report.
  8. Preparing patient rooms and keeping the rooms neat and clean.
  9. Maintaining continuity among work teams by documents and communication actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  10. Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications for the Lab Assistant

  • Proven track record of excellence with time management, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Observable professionalism, productivity, and customer service.
  • Experience in healthrelated fields and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Successful completion of clinical orientation with proven capabilities in skill, knowledge base and vision of Hospitality Health Emergency Room.
  • Takes initiative and always looking for ways to help flow efficiently.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read, speak and write the English language.
