JOB SUMMARY
Oversee the operation of Keno on assigned shifts, including supervising Keno staff, games, and tournaments. Responsible for all games conducted and ensuring compliance with all rules, regulations and policies. Assist with game implementation when needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Ensure customer satisfaction and return visits through prompt, efficient, and friendly service.
  2. Opens and/or closes Keno/OTB department.
  3. Supervises all Keno/OTB staff on shift, including scheduling, area assignments, performance counseling, evaluation, and leave approval.
  4. Trains new Keno/OTB staff and provides ongoing training for existing staff as directed.
  5. Approves payoffs at a limited level and seeks authorization for payoffs over a specified amount.
  6. Functions as a writer as needed, including working at different stations of the game area, calling, and verifying the game, collecting game draws, and checking the writer's revenue tapes for accuracy.
  7. Ensures procedure sequence, as set forth by the department manager, to properly coordinate the game.
  8. Maintains Keno supply needs to maintain operations and submits replacement requests accordingly.
  9. Handles complaints from customers, deferring difficult concerns to the supervisor.
  10. Computer use, to log in/out daily accounts and access monthly Keno tournament accounts and daily e-mail correspondence.
  11. Inventory for controlled items such as a Keno ball, equipment, and continuous paper.
  12. Comply with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policy and procedures, safety codes, etc.
  13. Promotes a clean, safe, and healthy work environment for employees and guests. Promptly reports all concerns to the supervisor.
  14. Ensure that the operation of equipment, tools, and materials is handled safely.
  15. Promote internal guest service standards through courteous and respectful behavior.
  16. Other duties as assigned.

SIGNATORY ABILITY:

ACCESS TO SENSITIVE AREAS:
  1. Keno-controlled storage and employee files.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Six (6) months of cash handling or customer service experience.
  2. Six (6) months of supervisory experience.
  3. High School Diploma or GED or ten years' experience.
  4. Computer literate with Word, spreadsheets, database systems, e-mail, and POS systems.
  5. Detail-oriented, good with numbers and money, possess legible handwriting skills and 10 key experiences.
  6. Need to stand for long periods, perform routine clerical functions, including repetitive motion of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers, visually review info and enter into the computer, and work within a noisy environment.
  7. Effective communication skills - verbally able to provide instruction, respond to questions, and have exceptional interpersonal skills and abilities.
  8. Exhibits a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees and guests.
  9. Requires a High-Security Gaming License clearance.
  10. Must be at least 21 years of age.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. One (1) year of Keno writer experience.
  2. One (1) year of gaming or Casino experience.
