Job Description:
Job Summary: The Certified Medical Assistant PRN performs a variety of clinical and technical functions to include patient care. The Certified Medical Assistant PRN will assist clinic leadership in all aspects of patient flow while maintaining a high quality of patient care in a compassionate manner.
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:
  1. Performs complete data collection of patient and other various duties and direct care with regard to age and developmental stage, presenting complaint, and pertinent history.
  2. Completes documentation, meet current standards along with policies and procedures including documentation of all mandatory forms within the scope of the position.
  3. Participates in quality improvement activities.
  4. Assists with scheduling appointments.
  5. Assists in preparing and maintaining clinic readiness including but not limited to maintaining neat, orderly and supplied exam rooms and sets up for procedures as indicated.
  6. Collects lab specimens as directed.
  7. Administers approved medications as directed.

  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
  • Current JPS recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire and maintained current throughout employment.
  • Current certification from a national registry as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year experience practice setting or a hospital based clinic setting.
