Metal Ware Corporation is looking for a Logistics Manager to lead our warehouse, shipping, receiving, transportation, inventory, and distribution operations. This role is responsible for ensuring products move safely, efficiently, accurately, and cost-effectively while providing strong leadership and support to our logistics team.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader and problem solver who enjoys developing people, improving processes, and working collaboratively across departments. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage daily warehouse, shipping, receiving, transportation, and distribution operations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop logistics and warehouse personnel to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and service goals.
  • Ensure timely and accurate shipment of customer orders.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and process improvements.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for logistics operations.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound freight with carriers, vendors, and customers.
  • Negotiate carrier rates and services to reduce transportation costs while maintaining appropriate service levels.
  • Analyze logistics metrics, including freight costs, on-time delivery performance, inventory accuracy, and labor productivity.
  • Lead continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives throughout logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, company safety policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate shipping discrepancies, freight claims, and service failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Accounting to improve operational efficiency and service.
  • Manage budgets and control logistics-related expenses.
  • Oversee warehouse organization, cleanliness, and proper material-handling practices.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee development efforts.
  • Participate in strategic planning and capacity forecasting for warehousing and transportation operations.
  • Administer and resolve customer and retailer chargebacks by investigating root causes, coordinating corrective actions with cross-functional teams, disputing invalid deductions when appropriate, and implementing process improvements to reduce future chargebacks.
  • Assist with unloading containers and other hands-on warehouse activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
