Ruskin Company seeks Multi Plant Controller in Plano, TX
Job Description: Oversee accounting activities to assure accurate and timely preparation, recording, transmissions, analysis, and communication of data necessary to control operations and achieve objectives for all plants under direct supervision. Provide accounting analysis, counsel, advice, and recommendations to help plant management make business decisions to reduce costs, improve profits and return on investment and to achieve goals and plans. Ensure the integrity of the financial information generated at the plant. Implement consistency and process improvements and spread financial knowledge to other members of the sales and operations teams Lead and coordinate the monthly financial close, supporting the RBC. Analyze monthly financial results for the full P&L at the Dothan, AL; Geneva, AL; and Lexington, KY plants, including calculation and validating the accuracy of key finance and plant metrics. Partner with the shared service center teams to ensure balance sheet reconciliations are performed and reviewed on a timely basis. Review all key and subjective reserve accounts on at least a quarterly basis. Prepare annual budgets, weekly outlooks and daily Revenue/Productivity for the facilities. Partner with sales organization and communicate/align updates on S&OP vs financial outlooks. Work closely with engineering and procurement on the annual standards roll. Review and monitor cycle count process and physical inventories. Help analyze reports for variance problems, physical to book inventory variations, and takes corrective action. Responsible for the inventory reporting and maintenance of ERP product costing information. Assist in preparation/review of CAR financial justifications for plant capital projects. Track capital project spending, timing and cost impact against project plan, forecasts and budget to understand and report variances. Work with project managers to assure timely capitalization of equipment placed in use. Assist sample CAR post audits to verify savings. Coordinate periodic fixed asset physical inventory per company policies. Review payroll and labor analysis and ensure applicable payroll controls are in place. Ensure adherence to Corporate and Divisional accounting/internal control procedures, SOX compliance and reporting requirements for all plants. Analyze plant operating costs in detail and partners with plant operation leaders to develop actions to increase profitability and enhance long-term return on investment. Assist corporate and divisional systems personnel in the implementation and continued reliability of plant IT systems. Directs the scheduling and operation of remote data processing equipment. Prepare requests and recommendations for systems/programming changes to meet needs and conditions. Work with operations on driving plant continuous improvement and validate all CI initiatives for accuracy. Position supervises 1 Plant Controller. Position requires quarterly travel (up to 25% of total time) within domestic U.S. to support physical inventory checks at plants.
Job Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 5 years of experience as Finance Controller, Accounting Manager, or related. Must have experience in each of the following skills: 5 years of experience with US GAAP and internal controls; 4 years of experience with cost accounting; 4 years of experience with financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting; 4 years of experience with OneStream financial system, HFM, or Essbase; 5 years of experience using ERP systems; 5 years of finance or accounting experience supporting manufacturing operations; 5 years of experience with Capital Appropriations Requests; 5 years of experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act compliance; and 4 years of product costing experience.
