Description

Summary

The Interior Designer is primarily responsible for kitchen only, bath only, porch additions, finished basement projects, and other projects as assigned. While keeping budget and constructability in mind, the Interior Designer will create a design the meets the clients needs and aesthetic. Each Interior Designer is responsible for all drawings related to the project. 


Responsibilities

Prepare for and conduct efficient and productive client design meetings by guiding the client to make timely, confident decisions on their project. Document selections from client meetings and ensure these are accurate throughout the renovation process.

Make selections (furniture, plumbing, lighting, and material selections) to meet client requirement and aesthetic while maintaining budget

Obtain quotes for items such as glass/mirrors, tile, countertops, cabinets, cabinet hardware, plumbing, and lighting

Create Interior Drawings from 3D drawings and floor plans and dimensions accurately and to industry standards

Interior Drawings include but are not limited to: Demo Plan, New Floor Plan, Electrical Plan, Finish Plan, and all pertinent Elevations 

Field Measure or draw as-built drawings

Update interior drawings as needed. Ensure all interior drawings are complete and accurate. 

Attend job site visits to keep a pulse on the project and stay committed to the client experience.

Communicate with the renovation team on all items related to the project. Serve as an active member of the scrum team and project team. Be an active member of the design team. 

Coordinate photoshoots including scheduling, preparation, staging, day of coordination, and downloading photos to marketing.

Accurate hour logging for job-related time is being kept daily.

Other duties as assigned. 


Training Opportunities

Own design for a whole home including but not limited to making all selections (plumbing, hardware, materials, cabinets, lighting), all drawings, and presenting to the client

Own design for an addition including but not limited to making all selections (plumbing, hardware, materials, cabinets, lighting), all drawings, and presenting to the client

Own design for a furniture client including but not limited to making all selections, materials, floorplans, and presenting to the client

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related discipline

1-2 years experience in Kitchen & Bath design and/or construction 

Ability to learn Chief Architect 

Demonstrates command & poise of design and generates client confidence in their decision making

Plan in place for certifications in NCIDQ (National Council of Interior Design Qualification) and CKBD (Certified Kitchen & Bath Designer)
