Job description

What You'll Do:
  • Work with Inspector/Packer and Kitting Supervisor to stock items necessary to the packing function including silver saver paper, pallets, crate lids and walls, and foam.
  • Gather materials to assemble crates, using hand tools, such as a box cutter and hammer.
  • Stacks crates and/or boxes on pallets according to directions.
  • Weigh all crates and document weights on applicable set weight sheets, as instructed.
  • Assist Inspector/Packer with palletizing overflow parts from incomplete sets, ensuring that parts are stored correctly to prevent damage.
  • Operate stand-up and/or sit-down forklifts to move both raw materials and finished parts and pieces to and from the Kitting cell as instructed.
  • Maintain a clean work environment, assisting with special projects related to the cleanliness and organization of the department as assigned by the department Supervisor.
  • Assist operators in basic tasks as needed to complete production.
  • Follows all required safety guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • Ability to read detailed work instructions.
  • Experience working in an industrial environment preferred.
  • Must be proficient in the use and maintenance of basic power tools.
  • Ability to work well with other people, as well as self-start and motivate while working independently.
  • Must possess and demonstrate good written and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift to 70 pounds at frequent intervals.
  • Must maintain adequate attendance, safety, and job performance according to company policies and standards.
  • This job requires standing, stooping and bending 100% of the time.
  • Must be able to work in an environment that is not climate controlled.
