Job Summary
The General Manager’s Assistant supports the General Manager in overseeing daily mining operations, ensuring continuity of leadership, and maintaining operational performance across all departments.

The incumbent will gain exposure to all aspects of mining operations, including production, cost control, equipment management, and cross-functional coordination, while contributing to operational excellence, safety compliance, and strategic execution.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Support & Coordination:

· Support the General Manager in planning, coordinating, and monitoring all mining production activities to meet safety, production, and efficiency targets.

· Ensure alignment and communication across departments (operations, maintenance, geology, HSE, finance, and administration).

· Assist in identifying operational inefficiencies and implementing improvements to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.

Cost and Budget Control:

· Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and control of operational budgets.

· Track cost performance and support initiatives to improve cost efficiency and resource utilization.

· Analyze operational data and provide insights to support financial and operational decision-making.

Project & Strategic Initiative Support:

· Support the planning and execution of special projects and strategic initiatives led by the General Manager or CEO.

· Monitor project progress, timelines, and deliverables to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across mining operations.

Leadership & Team Development:

· Support leadership of operational and administrative teams by reinforcing accountability, communication, and performance standards.

· Act as a liaison between departments to ensure effective collaboration.

· Develop leadership capabilities through active involvement in decision-making and team management.

Reporting & Compliance:

· Prepare and consolidate reports on operational performance, cost metrics, and project updates for the General Manager and CEO.

· Ensure adherence to all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

· Support audits, inspections, and compliance initiatives.

Other Duties:

· Perform ad hoc duties as assigned by the General Manager or CEO.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

Mandarin speaker.

· Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in mining operations.

· At least 3–5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

· Demonstrated exposure to both operational and administrative functions is preferred.

· Strong understanding of mining operations, production planning, and equipment utilization.

· Developing experience in budgeting, cost control, and operational analysis.

· Leadership potential with the ability to influence and support cross-functional teams.

· Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially in dynamic environments.

· Effective communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, and mining software.
