Description:

At Saint Francis Hospital the Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions.

What you will do

  • Collect and report patient information and data

  • Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility and ambulation

  • Patient Transport

  • Collection of specimens

  • Distribution of linens and supplies to patient rooms

  • Deliver ice and beverages to patients

  • As assigned, stays with at-risk patients to monitor patient safety

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing OR Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed OR significant previous healthcare related experience

  • Proof with college transcript required OR have significant nurse assistant/healthcare related experience is required

  • Certification: BLS certification required

  • Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting preferred

  • Ability to pass drug screening and background check

Work Schedule :

  • Full Time, 36 hours, Day Shift.

  • Full Time, 36 hours, Night Shift.

  • Part Time, 24 hours, Day Shift.

  • Part Time, 24 hours, Night Shift.

  • Rotating weekends and holidays are required for these positions.
