Performs Nursing Assistant skills under the direction of clinical director, clinical coordinator or registered nurse (RN).

Job Description:

Education:Required: High school diploma, GED or higher level degree if hired after June 6, 2022Licensure/Certification:Required: California Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) if hired after April 10, 2016; in lieu of CNA, one (1) complete semester of education in an accredited associate's degree in nursing (ADN or ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program or completion of a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) program; American Heart Association BLSExperience:Preferred: Healthcare experienceReports To: Clinical DirectorSupervises: N/AAges of Patients: Neonate/Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, GeriatricBlood Borne Pathogens: High Potential

Essential Responsibilities

1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.2. Obtains vital signs: temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure and pain level.3. Documents and communicates abnormal values and changes to RN per policy; communicates observations of patient condition changes to RN.4. Performs AM and HS hygiene per standard.5. Positions and ambulates patients as per care plan; assists RN with re-positioning, ambulating, transporting, and other care as directed.6. Documents Intake, Output and daily weights; communicates information to RN; completes documentation accurately as per policy.7. Assists with set up and/or feedings of patients.8. Communicates with RN or appropriate team member prior to leaving unit for any reasons.9. Assists with equipment storage, retrieval and procedure cart restocking as directed.10. Observes all isolation procedures and regulations.11. Provides safe patient environment at all times; stays with patient who may be in danger of falling or hurting themselves; correctly identifies patient by use of armband; ensures call bell is within reach; application of restraints.12. Adheres to guidelines for change of shift report from assigned RN.13. Performs patient rounds at least every hour.14. Maintains general tidiness of patient room.15. Completes continuing education classes as assigned.16. Performs duties assigned by and under the supervision of the RN.17. Performs other duties as assigned.
