Job description

Injection Molding Operator/Set-Up Technician

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7:00 AM-3:30 PM

Pay: $30 - $35/hour DOE

We are URGENTLY seeking an experienced Injection Molding Operator/Set-Up Technician to support a manufacturing & distribution operation in Jacksonville, FL. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating injection molding equipment, assisting with machine setup, performing mold/tooling changes, connecting water lines, troubleshooting production issues, and keeping equipment running safely and efficiently.

This is not an entry-level machine operator role. The right candidate should be comfortable working hands-on with injection molding machines and supporting production, maintenance, and operations teams to minimize downtime and maintain quality output.

Candidates should expect hands-on testing as part of the interview process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate injection molding machines safely and efficiently.

• Assist with machine setup, start-up, shut-down, and changeovers.

• Support mold/tooling changes, including add/remove tasks as needed.

• Connect, disconnect, and manage water lines used in the injection molding process.

• Monitor machine performance and identify issues that may impact quality or production.

• Troubleshoot basic mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process-related issues.

• Work with maintenance and production teams to reduce downtime and keep equipment running properly.

• Inspect parts for quality issues and report defects or machine concerns.

• Make basic machine adjustments as needed within skill level and company guidelines.

• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

• Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and OSHA guidelines.

• Document work performed, machine issues, repairs, adjustments, and production concerns as required.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Prior hands-on injection molding machine experience required.

• Experience with machine setup, mold changes, tooling changes, or changeovers strongly preferred.

• Experience connecting or managing water lines for mold cooling preferred.

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot production equipment.

• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred.

• Light electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus.

• Conveyor system experience is a plus.

• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a production/maintenance Team.

• Prior industrial, manufacturing, plastics, or injection molding environment experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work around production equipment throughout the shift.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.

• Comfortable working in a manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environment.

• Must be able to wear required PPE.

Additional Information:

• Full-time position.

• Stable Monday - Friday day shift schedule.

• Hands-on testing will be part of the interview process.

• Pay will depend on experience and overall fit.
