Responsibilities

Assistant Human Resources Manager responsibilities included but are not limited to:

  • Ensure the plant is in full compliance with all State and Federal Employment laws
  • Foster positive employee relations and participate in the resolution of issues as they arise
  • Payroll and all related reporting
  • Administration of benefits (including insurance, vacations, personal days and sick days, FMLA, and leaves of absence)
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and practices, as well as the contractual agreements with the bargaining unit
  • Oversee Corporate Employment Practices
    • Affirmative Action
    • I9 and other Immigration regulations
  • Arrange & coordinate hiring process
    • Recruitment efforts
    • Interview process
    • New Hire Orientation
    • Exit interview for employment termination
  • Coordination of job postings, bidding process, and subsequent transfers
  • Manage other projects as needed by the HR Manager
  • Assume duties of HR Trainer, clerical staff, and HR Manager in their absences
  • Other duties as assigned

This is an on-site position.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Assistant Human Resources Manager position should possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered in place of a degree
  • 2+ years of HR experience; supervisory experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite. including Excel, Word, and Power-Point
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Must be highly organized and able to multitask in a timely and professional manner
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Must be able to bring high energy and urgency to the performance of assigned tasks
  • Must be able to work at a sustained and fast pace while producing quality work
  • Must have good training skills
  • Bilingual capability is very desirable

Qualified candidates for this position will be required to successfully complete the background check.
