General Function
The Corporate Payroll amp; Human Resources Specialist is responsible for assisting with processing accurate and timely payroll administration for hourly and salaried employees across all Ice Industries locations. Additionally, the incumbent will also provide day-to-day administrative support to the Grenada Human Resources department.
The role requires a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy, organization, responsiveness, and attention to detail. The Payroll amp; Human Resources Specialist works closely with employees, supervisors, plant leadership, Human Resources, and other internal and external partners to ensure payroll and HR processes are completed accurately, consistently, and in accordance with Company policies and applicable requirements.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation, review, and processing of payroll for hourly and salaried employees across Ice Industries locations.
  • Review employee timekeeping information for accuracy and completeness and assist in resolving discrepancies prior to payroll processing.
  • Process and monitor wage garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other court-ordered or legally required payroll deductions.
  • Maintain accurate and complete payroll records, documentation, reports, and supporting materials.
  • Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, reporting, and research related to payroll discrepancies.
  • Respond to employee questions and concerns regarding payroll matters, including pay calculations, direct deposit, payroll deductions, garnishments, tax withholding, timekeeping, and W-2 forms.
  • Research payroll issues and coordinate with appropriate internal departments or external payroll providers to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll, compensation, employee, and other sensitive information.
  • Support year-end payroll activities, including employee information verification and W-2 preparation and distribution.
  • Assist in ensuring payroll processes are completed in accordance with Company policies and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and orientation activities for new employees.
  • Conduct or assist with new-hire orientation and ensure required policies, procedures, benefits information, and workplace expectations are communicated.
Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred (equivalent relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • 2+ two years of experience supporting payroll processing and/or Human Resources functions.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or similar environment is preferred.
  • Experience using payroll, timekeeping, or Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) is strongly preferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment with periodic exposure to a manufacturing environment.
  • The manufacturing environment is not fully climate controlled, and ambient temperatures may occasionally exceed outside air temperatures.
  • Must be able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods when supporting employees and operations throughout the facility.
  • Must be able to bend at the waist and knees as required to perform job duties.
  • Position requires frequent use of a computer, keyboard, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to work in and travel through office and manufacturing areas safely.
  • Must be flexible regarding work schedule and hours when necessary to support payroll deadlines, employee needs, Plant operations, or other business requirements.
