Job description

Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is in standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years have expanded throughout the Midwest.

Job Summary

The Recruiter will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the company.

Hours and Wages

  • Monday-Friday, 7:30AM-4:30PM OR 8:00AM-5:00PM
  • $24.00-$26.00 per hour, based on experience

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, facilitate, and implement all phases of the recruitment process
  • Collaborate with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria
  • Identify and implement efficient recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization
  • Assist with job posting and advertisement processes
  • Screen applicants and select qualified candidates
  • Schedule interviews; oversee preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials
  • Attend and conduct interviews with department managers
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies
  • Attend and participate in job fairs and recruiting sessions
  • Perform other required duties as assigned

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles

  • Familiar with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Education and Experience

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in human resources management preferred
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
