Exciting news! We are hiring an Assistant Hotel General Manager in Cleveland, TN!


The Assistant General Manager is responsible for supporting the overall management of daily hotel operations while driving revenue performance, guest satisfaction, employee engagement, and operational excellence.


This hands-on leadership role requires a hospitality professional who can balance sales support, guest experience, team leadership, and operational execution. The ideal candidate will have strong hotel operations experience, a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences, and the ability to lead a team while supporting business growth initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Revenue Support

  • Support the General Manager in achieving revenue, occupancy, profitability, and guest satisfaction goals.
  • Partner with management and corporate sales teams to execute sales strategies and revenue initiatives.
  • Support local sales efforts, community partnerships, and demand-generation opportunities.
  • Train and coach front desk team members on effective selling techniques, promotions, upgrades, and guest engagement strategies.
  • Monitor occupancy trends, guest needs, and operational opportunities to maximize performance.


Hotel Operations Management

  • Assist with the daily operations of the hotel, ensuring company standards and brand expectations are consistently maintained.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to hotel employees.
  • Assist with staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure operational procedures are followed, including guest service standards, safety practices, and quality expectations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and employees.


Guest Experience & Service Excellence

  • Lead employees in delivering exceptional guest service that supports revenue and profitability goals.
  • Train team members on guest engagement, problem resolution, and service recovery.
  • Personally handle escalated guest concerns and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Respond to guest feedback, complaints, Guest Assistance Contact Forms, and satisfaction surveys according to company standards.
  • Identify trends impacting guest satisfaction and implement improvements.


Employee Leadership & Development

  • Promote a positive workplace culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and hospitality excellence.
  • Train, coach, and develop employees to improve performance and engagement.
  • Support employee satisfaction initiatives and retention efforts.
  • Ensure fair and consistent application of company policies, procedures, and employment practices.
  • Conduct business with professionalism, integrity, and alignment with company values.


Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 2–5+ years of hotel management experience, preferably as an Assistant General Manager, Assistant Hotel Manager, Front Office Manager, or similar leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations, guest service standards, and daily property management.
  • Experience leading teams and supporting revenue-focused initiatives.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in extended-stay hospitality preferred.
  • Experience with sales initiatives, local marketing, or community relationship building.
  • Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS), reservations systems, and Microsoft Office applications.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent hospitality management experience will be considered.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to sit, work at a computer, and complete administrative tasks.
  • May occasionally lift or carry light items.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Must be flexible with scheduling, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
