Job description

The YMCA of Central Texas is currently seeking Fitness Consultants for the Highland Lakes YMCA.

The Fitness Consultant creates a safe environment while welcoming, connecting and supporting members in achieving their fitness goals. Candidate must have good customer service skills with a good working knowledge of cardio and weight equipment.

Available Shifts: Evening Shift

Essential Functions:

  • Assists with tours responsive to the needs of prospective members
  • Assist participants with cardio and/or weight equipment
  • Shares fitness program information with members, using available tools and resources
  • Communicates with members and program participants while building relationships in support of their individual needs
  • Identifies and celebrates the successes of members and program participants
  • Actively participates in maintaining equipment sanitation standards

Qualifications:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess High school diploma or equivalent
  • Be willing and able to work a variety of shifts, on weekends, and some evenings
  • Must be reliable with a good attendance record
  • Have a neat appearance and be well-groomed
  • Have a good knowledge of fitness and wellness
  • Be friendly, courteous, enthusiastic, possess a cooperative attitude, and be a team player
  • Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations
  • Be willing to uphold the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, responsibility, respect, and faith
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire
  • Be able to pass reference check, pre-employment drug screen, background check and sex offender check

Pay Rate: $13.00 to $14.00/hour
