Purpose of Position
The School of Computing and Analytics at Northern Kentucky University (NKU) invites applications for a Visiting Teaching Assistant Professor position in the Information Systems & Analytics (IS&A) program. The successful candidate will teach both face-to-face and online courses in areas including security management, health informatics, analytics, and information systems.
The School of Computing and Analytics, part of the College of Informatics, includes three primary areas: Computer Science & Software Engineering, Cybersecurity & Information Technology, and Information Systems & Analytics. The School has more than 35 full-time faculty members and offers six undergraduate and four graduate degree programs serving over 1,100 students. This position is available for the 2026-2027 academic year, running from August 2026 to May 2027. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching four class sections each semester.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Teach a 4-4 course load (fall and spring semesters) in Information Systems & Analytics courses.
  • Deliver instruction in both face-to-face and online modalities.
  • Maintain office hours in accordance with School policies.
  • Attend required School and College meetings.
  • Participate in course assessment and continuous improvement activities as needed.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse community of students, faculty, and staff.

Candidates with expertise in security management, analytics, and health informatics are especially encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Information Systems, Health Informatics, Analytics, or a closely related field is required.
  • Ph.D. in Information Systems, Health Informatics, Analytics, or a closely related field is preferred.
  • Evidence of effective teaching ability is preferred.
