EDITOR - Twice Weekly in Evanston, Wyoming
The Publisher of the Uinta County Herald, located in the historic town of Evanston, Wyoming (located in southwest Wyoming) has asked us to assist with a search for an Editor. The new Editor will lead a small editorial staff while publishing a quality, twice-weekly community newspaper and serving an engaged community of readers. The newspaper is owned by News Media Corporation which has multiple properties across the country. There is great opportunity for future advancement hinged upon your contribution to the continued success of the paper. Successful candidates must possess strong writing, grammar, spelling and editing skills, as well as excellent communication skills. We're looking for a team player that has exceptional leadership skills and abilities, strong Mac computer experience, superb pagination (InDesign) and design skills and abilities, very strong photography and Photoshop skills, a superior work ethic and a great attitude. Must have excellent time management and organizational skills and abilities. Must be serious and have a strong desire to write, package and publish a quality, community-oriented newspaper (3,000 circulation) every Tuesday and Friday in a competitive small-town market.
This is a leadership position, both within the newspaper operation and the community. Additional responsibilities include oversight of editorial staffs at two smaller weeklies in the newspaper group in southwest Wyoming.
