Job Description
Pay Range: $69,300-$80,885 per year.
Purpose of Position:
Provide support to the Hatchery Manager to maintain the goal of producing the highest quality chick at the lowest possible cost.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Collaborate with manager in meeting department goals and standards on quality, yield, productivity, safety, and costs.
  • Supervise production up to 200,000 chicks daily.
  • Establish and maintain labor efficiencies.
  • Provide safety training for all employees, perform safety inspections and audits monthly.
  • Assist with controlling inventory of chemicals and supplies.
  • Responsible for the supervision, development and training of Team members.
  • Management of Team members timecards and working schedules.
  • Execute and expand hatchery programs, procedures and safety standards in regard to sanitation, Inovo injection, equipment operation, animal welfare etc.
  • Assist with monitoring programs including evaluating chick quality, cleanliness, and various biological aspects.

Qualifications
  • College degree or equivalent work experience in related field, at least 1 year of equivalent experience preferred.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Must adhere to Foster Farms disease control policies.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
  • Ability to operate automation equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to keep regular attendance and work shifts as scheduled
  • Ability to work weekend and graveyard shifts and most holidays.
  • Must be able to submit and pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.
