Responsibilities

What your day looks like as a Ship Crane Operator:

  • Safely operate Ship to Shore Cranes including GL/GLE, RTG, and Gantry Crane 
  • Safe and knowledgeable operation of equipment
  • Inspection of equipment for defect or damage before and after operation
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining equipment to safety standards
  • Discharge Vessels promptly
  • Attentive to operations and surroundings
  • Follow scheduling and production goals set by management
  • Work as a team to meet, achieve, and exceed goals when possible

Qualifications

To succed as a Ship Crane Operator you must have:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 6 months experience with Ship Crane Operation (marine t erminal or heavy industrial environment preferred).
  • Must possess valid relevant crane training certification if you do not have work experience. This includes Gantry Crane, GL/GLE, or K4 Crane Training. 
  • Understanding and knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used for Crane Operation. 
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC card (for more information visit the TSA website on TWIC requirements)
  • Valid US driver's license 
  • As a port employer our team is subject to working in all weather conditions including extreme heat and harsh winters. We work in all weather conditions. 
  • All employees must pass a background check, drug screening, and pre-employment physical
