Position Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategically minded Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will lead the finance team for the Radar and Sensor Technologies (RST) business group based out of Ypsilanti, Michigan.ย  We are looking for a leader with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills who is able to develop, analyze, and present financial information / models in a concise and easily comprehensible manner. This position is an on-site position located in Chantilly, VA / Ypsilanti, MI

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accounting compliance with U.S. GAAPย 
  • Review and analyze various financial statements and reportsย 
  • Lead monthly close process including review of journal entries, allocations, reporting to the parent company, etc.ย ย ย 
  • Review and analyze percentage-of-completion and shipment-based revenue modelsย ย 
  • Management and analysis of direct & indirect ratesย 
  • Review and approve account reconciliationsย 
  • Support and interact with auditors for financial statement and government auditsย 
  • Understand key business driversย 
  • Assist project teams with financial guidance across all functions of the organizationย 
  • Build financial modelsย 
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as requiredย 
  • Be proficient using Deltek Costpointย 
  • Work collaboratively across functions and businessesย 
  • Lead a team of finance professionals managing all personnel related activities

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelorโ€™s degree in accounting, or related finance areaย 
    • 8+ years of experience in Accounting, Month End Closings and Financial Reportingย 
    • Strong knowledge of U.S. Government Contract Accounting (FAR, DFAR, CAS) a plusย 
    • Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audienceย 
    • Working knowledge of accounting and finance best practicesย 
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skillsย 
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skillsย 
    • Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environmentย 
    • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skillsย 
    • Strong Excel and modeling skillsย 
    • Proficiency in other Microsoft Office toolsย 
    • Strong understanding and experience working with ERP systemsย 
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Experience with CPM Toolsย 
      • Experience using OneStream software or similar toolย 
      • Experience using Deltek Costpoint and related financial systems, to include Cognos Reportingย 
      • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a strong plusย
