Job description

Maintenance Technician
Maintenance technicians ensure The Osthoff Resort & Spa's facilities, equipment, and amenities are well maintained, safe, and in excellent condition for our guests. This role performs general maintenance and repairs across various trades, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC. Maintenance technicians help maintain the resort to AAA Four Diamond brand expectations, ensuring a high level of quality and guest satisfaction.
*The ideal candidate has handyman experience, but this position can also be trainable for those who are energetic and passionate about learning key essential skills in home maintenance.
The wage for this position ranges from $20-26 per hour, dependent on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs in guest units, resort buildings and common areas
  • Address plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry issues as needed, ensuring high quality workmanship
  • Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests from guests and resort team members
  • Maintain and repair swimming pools, hot tubs, saunas, and other recreational facilities to luxury standards
  • Responsible for swimming pool and hot tub chemical testing and monitoring per state mandated guidelines
  • Perform PM maintenance on equipment as needed
  • Perform daily water system testing and monitoring
  • Perform carpet cleaning and carpet equipment maintenance
  • Perform fire system inspection and testing as needed
  • Document work completion and parts used in work management system
  • Using the computer system to verify room occupancy prior to performing maintenance work
  • Report the need for spare parts or attic stock inventory
  • Assist grounds crew when needed
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Strong customer/ guest service skills
  • Knowledge of basic home maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting
  • HVAC training or experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC equipment a plus
  • Must have or obtain after 1 year of employment: CPO Certificate for Swimming Pool Operations
  • Ability to multitask
  • Have a positive and motivated personality
  • Flexible schedule including some evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to learn quickly and accurately
  • Have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
