Job Title: Seasonal Assistant Golf Professional (Non-Exempt)

Location: The Fall Line Club, Butler, GA

The Fall Line is a premier private destination golf and sporting club located in Southwest Georgia. Our 4,500-acre property features two Ogilvy, Cocking & Mead-designed 18-hole championship golf courses, a 9-hole short course, and world-class facilities for shooting, hunting, and angling. In addition to our outstanding outdoor offerings, we pride ourselves on exceptional hospitality with multiple dining and lodging options, all enhanced by our 25-acre farm that serves as the centerpiece of the property.

Job Summary:

The Seasonal Assistant Golf Professional will assist the Director of Golf in managing and executing daily golf operations at The Fall Line. The ideal candidate will be organized, with strong communication skills, and dedicated to providing a memorable experience for our members and guests. This role involves coordinating between various departments, maintaining high standards, and ensuring exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Member & Guest Relations: Greet and engage with all members and guests, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued.
  • Golf Shop Operations: Oversee daily golf shop operations including sales, handling golf charges, managing inquiries, and maintaining a well-organized shop.
  • Merchandising: Set up, change, and maintain golf shop displays. Perform regular inventory checks and manage stock levels.
  • Custom Orders: Process and manage custom orders for members and guests.
  • Golf Course Assistance: Maintain your own golf game to be available to play with members. Assist with cleaning clubs, maintaining the range, and overseeing golf cart maintenance.
  • Bag Drop Coordination: Manage and coordinate the bag drop service throughout the day.
  • Facility Maintenance: Ensure the range and practice facilities are kept in excellent condition. Clean, charge, and stock golf carts as needed.

Goals for the Operation:

  • Member/Guest Acknowledgment: Introduce yourself to new faces and recognize returning members and guests to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Outstanding Service: Anticipate and fulfill the needs of members and guests to provide the highest level of service.
  • Informed Staff: Maintain up-to-date knowledge about members, their families, and club events to stay informed.
  • Professional Image: Ensure the golf shop, merchandising, and golf cart facility are maintained to the highest standards. Greet everyone in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Consistency: Deliver impartial, consistent service, teaching, and merchandising to all members.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a golf shop or similar environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Knowledge of golf operations and merchandising.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support the overall operations of the club.
  • Must be an avid golfer.
  • Bachelor’s degree and four years of golf experience preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Registered PGA Member preferred
  • Experience with a computerized POS and Tee Time System preferred.

Seasonal Structure and Professional Development
Employment is structured from September through June. The summer period is unpaid. The Fall Line provides active assistance in securing summer culinary placements, including local and regional opportunities, interstate seasonal roles, and international or abroad experiences when applicable.
