Job description

The Assistant Golf Shop Manager supports daily Golf Shop operations by supervising staff, managing inventory and financial processes, coordinating tournaments and events, administering memberships, and delivering exceptional customer service. This position also supports marketing and revenue-generating initiatives while serving as acting Golf Shop General Manager in the Manager's absence.Essential duties include the following. Coordinate, supervise and organize daily golf shop and cart barn operations, ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and customer service standards

Open and close the golf shop and cart barn; reconcile cash drawers, prepare financial reports, assist with facility maintenance, and maintain facility readiness. Communicate course conditions, policies, promotions, and operational updates. Develop and manage part-time staff schedules, coordinate shift coverage, respond to attendance issues, and implement scheduling adjustments to meet operational needs and labor budgets.

Coordinate tee sheet operations, player flow, and daily golf shop communications. Support tournaments, outings, leagues, youth programs, and special events through logistics, registrations, scheduling, promotions, event setup, and post-event follow-up. Serve as the primary point of contact for tournament organizers and assist with tournament sales and food and beverage coordination.

Manage purchasing, inventory, merchandising, receiving, and stocking as required. Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching, supervising, and evaluating staff. Enforce golf course policies, monitor pace of play, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

Resolve customer concerns and ensure exceptional customer service. Execute on-site marketing campaigns, sales promotions, and revenue-generating initiatives that enhance the customer experience and support business growth. Perform golf shop and cart attendant duties as operational needs dictate.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
