Job description

Position: Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

Salary: Non-Exempt; $34.84 – $48.78 per hour, depending on experience

Status: FTYR

Closing: 9/31/2026 or until filled

The Town of Gypsum is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our team at Gypsum Creek Golf Course. Under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent, you will help plan, direct, and perform the day-to-day maintenance of the golf course while supervising the maintenance staff. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in course conditions and enjoys working outdoors in a beautiful mountain setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and participate in the maintenance of tees, greens, fairways, rough, and cart paths
  • Supervise, train, and schedule golf course maintenance staff
  • Operate and maintain the irrigation system and develop watering schedules
  • Apply fertilizers, fungicides, and herbicides and maintain accurate records
  • Monitor turf health, equipment performance, and course conditions
  • Communicate with the Pro Shop and other Town departments
  • Promote and follow all Town safety policies

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least two seasons of golf course maintenance experience
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to obtain a Colorado Pesticide Applicator’s License within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift 40+ pounds
